PAUL SALTER- Musical accompaniment
Paul Salter was born and grew up in Manchester, UK. He is a solo pianist, accompanist, conductor, musical director, arranger, and composer. He is the holder of a third degree in piano accompaniment from the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, where he also won several prizes. In the UK he appeared on BBC TV and Radio and was the Musical Director for the Manchester Jewish Theatre Company for more than fifteen years. He also conducted the National Festival Orchestra in the UK.
In 2001, Paul made Aliya and settled in Gush Etzion with his family. He studied conducting in Israel with Mendi Rodan. In competition, Paul has won the “Outstanding pianist” accolade and he has accompanied many instrumentalists, singers and chazanim in a wide range of music. He has conducted the Jerusalem Symphony and Israel Chamber Orchestras and was the founding Musical Director for Capitol Theatre and Encore Theatre. He has conducted nearly all the Gilbert & Sullivan operettas and several Broadway shows. Currently, he is the pianist for the up-and-coming Resonance Piano Trio. He has composed two operas based on early Zionist history with his colleague, Robert Binder, with more works in progress.
In addition, Paul is the Musical Director of the Jerusalem Cantors’ Choir with whom he has performed throughout Israel and Europe - Hungary, Poland, Germany, Italy and Serbia.
Paul is in demand as a speaker on musical topics, which he presents with video clips, and his talks have been acclaimed as “highly enjoyable, wide-ranging and stimulating” amongst the English-speaking community in Israel.
